Team Assembly

Welcome back to term 4- hasn't the year flown by???

This week in Team Assembly Bailey and Riana shared a play they had practised in reading time. It was one of the activities they chose in their reading time. 
Bailey and Riana had clear voices and a little bit of expression as they were different characters!

Sunflower Science

We have been growing sunflowers from seeds during term 3. We found the fastest sunflower to sprout was the King Kong seed. We have continued to water and look after our sunflower seeds. Each day we rush to put the seed trays outside before school and bring them in to the classroom before we go home at 3 o'clock.
Today we have planted all of our sunflower seeds in the school garden over by the old swimming pool. We will keep going over at lunchtimes to check and see how our plants are growing!

Science experiments

This week we have been bringing science experiments to school that we have been doing at home with our families.
In the morning at school,we are learning to explain what we have done and give a reason for the results of our experiments!
It has been lots of fun doing these with our families!

Road Safety

We had a group of children create Puppet Pal Presentations as part of our road safety unit.

Life Ed with Harold

Over the last two weeks we have been into the Life Ed classroom twice. Wow,  we learnt so much about our bodies.
We know that we need to put healthy food and clean water in our bodies so they can work and grow!
We need sleep and exercise so we can keep growing strong!

Tech Challenge with Elmo

For maths tech challenge this week, we had to make a seat for Elmo to sit in using boxes and sellotape.
We had to make a seat so that Elmo could sit up with a straight back .

Te Reo Kori

Over the last four weeks of school we have been improving our skills with the poi, rakau and action songs.
We would go to Mrs Brooks and learn how to use the poi to accompany the song "Butterfly"" that we had been taught.
With Mrs Irwin we would learn to use the rakau with a partner to the song "E Papa".
In room 6 we learnt some new action songs and would listen to legends about Maui.

Next week, we are going to develop our gymnastic skills!!!
